HOW TO MAKE A SUBDIVIDED BOWL SHAPE IN EASEL

Here is my "tutorial" for making a complex shape by combining and cutting shapes.
I found a glitch in the exploder app and I'm not sure who to tell. (See video time 6:12)

*** Figured it out in easel **** - In the video I couldn't figure out how to cut in easel. After the video I figured it out.

Place the shape which you want to cut away from the other ABOVE at ZERO DEPTH. Then Edit->Combine.

It cuts out the zero depth shape!!

If you home your machine

Hit carve.

Jog to the desired park location, X, Y, and Z.

Hit cancel to close carve walk thru.

Hit Ctrl+shift+D

In the command prompt, type:
G28.1
Hit enter.

Now when a carve is done and you are in the main easel design environment, just hit Ctrl+shift+D and type:
G28
Hit enter (note the lack of “.1”. The “.1” sets the location. The same can be done with G30 and set with G30.1.

This works in UGS also.

A lot of people are struggling to understand what the work zero point is in easel and how you can use it. The video shows, Work zero, How to move things around, How to cover up and only carve a portion of a design, Using "use last home" button, And how jogging around the spindle while using "use last home" doesn't affect where it cuts.
